Hydro One has released its five year investment plan for northwestern Ontario.
The utility says the strategy aims to cut down on power outages by 25%.
It calls for tree clearing, line and pole replacement and installing smart devices along its power lines.
Hydro One says it gathered feedback from almost 50,000 customers when developing the investment plan.
One project scheduled is an environmental assessment to conduct wood pole replacements in the Red Lake/Ear Falls corridor.
The work would consist of replacing roughly 66 end-of-life poles between the two communities.
The project is considered routine with no disruption to the land.
Officials say the replacements will ensure the continued reliability of the transmission system and its electricity supply in the area.
