The City of Dryden has applied for provincial funding to renovate Dryden Fire Hall #2.
Public Work Manager Blake Poole is asking for 91-thousand dollars, with the City responsible for 30-thousand of the costs.
“It’s an extensive project. Repairs to the damaged and leaking roof (are needed), removal of the unsafe deck structure that comes out the back of the building and restore the exterior siding, the removal of a semi attached smoke house training area and repairs to that area as well. ”
Poole continues, “replacements of four overhead doors, repair and upgrade the floor drain systems in the garage, replacement of damaged garage doors, rehabilitation of the crew washroom and replacement of exterior and interior lighting with energy efficient LED fixtures.”
Total cost of the critical renovations is nearly 122-thousand dollars.
The City would be responsible for any cost overruns or the total cost of the project if they don’t receive the funding.
