It’s been well over a year, but live music finally returns to ‘The Centre’ in Dryden this weekend.
The Dryden Entertainment Series’ first show of the season is Sunday (September 19).
“We are thrilled that we are able to provide live entertainment again at the Dryden Performing Arts Centre,” says Chair Wendy Wiedenhoeft. “Our first show is with Lynne Hanson beginning at 7:30pm at ‘The Centre’. She’s a very dynamic, folk, blues, country singer and I think she’s going to put on a great show to open our season.”
Wiedenhoeft goes over COVID-19 protocols that will be in place.
“The safety of our audience is of course our most concern. People will have to wear masks when they’re in ‘The Centre’ throughout the whole performance, we will be asking for proof of vaccination before people enter the building so people will need to bring their vaccination receipts with them and we will be spacing the seats.”
There also won’t be an intermission, bar or snacks in the lobby to limit large group gatherings.
Wiedenhoeft adds, “We have a variety of musical presentations as always and we have drama, we will have dance, so we’re looking forward to a great season. We’re optimistic that’s going to be able to happen so thank you to Dryden for coming out to see our concerts and we hope we can run a full season.”
Due to the uncertainty with COVID-19 restrictions, subscriptions will not be sold and each concert will be sold on an individual basis.
Tickets are $25 and must be purchased online in advance in order to maintain capacity limits.
Ticket sales will close if and when capacity is reached and there will be no ticket sales at the door.
