Make sure you grab a Smile Cookie or two with your double double this week at Dryden’s Tim Horton’s.
This year, funds raised from every one dollar cookie sold will go to the Dryden Native Friendship Centre and Making Connections For Children and Youth.
Ashely Apland with MCCY says the funds raised will benefit many area families.
“MCCY is a committee of designates from different community partners and we support children and youth to register them for sports, leisure activities, as well as car seats, equipment and transportation.”
Healthy Kids Program Coordinator at DNFC Caitlin Hartlen explains they provide community assistance concerning food insecurity and a wide range of programming for all ages.
“We especially focus on traditional teachings and land based activities, so this funding is going to help ensure that we can continue to deliver those quality services to the community. Get your preorders in, we’re looking to get lot’s and lots of those filled up. If you would like to volunteer, you can contact us because we’re actually looking to fill some shifts to help decorate the cookies.”
Smile Cookies can be purchased starting today, Monday September 13 through Sunday September 19.
To get a preorder sheet for cookies, contact Firefly’s Jen Armit at jarmit@fireflynw.ca
