The Municipality of Red Lake and Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry continue to keep a close eye on area forest fires.
In their update this afternoon, Municipal officials say Red Lake Fire 77, 16 and Kenora Fire 51 remain a relative concern to their communities.
Smoke and poor visibility will also continue to be an issue in the coming days.
Mayor Fred Mota says: “there is a sense of normalcy within the Municipality and much of this is attributed to the tireless efforts of the MNRF and its talented strategic planners and crews. These efforts from MNRF along with our Municipal Volunteer Fire Fighters have demonstrated their willingness to step up to the plate, and they will continue to do so until the forest fire season within the Red Lake District no longer exists in 2021.”
Municipal officials stress to stay prepared should conditions worsen and an evacuation have to be called.
The Municipality ‘s next update will be Tuesday, August 3rd at 3:00 pm unless conditions change and or worsen.
