Dorothy Penner
In loving memory of Dorothy Penner, age 89, who went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Wed July 28 at the Dryden Hospital after a short illness.
Dorothy Mutcher was born Sept 2, 1931 at home near Morden MB in Haskett. The family moved to Deloraine in 1940. After high school she worked in Brandon and Winnipeg. She attended Briercrest Bible School from 1951-52 and Winnipeg Bible Institute from 1955-56. She trained in Winnipeg at Grace Hospital from 1956-58 for her beloved career as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Dryden Hospital from 1959 to 1996 when she retired. After retiring she immediately started her Foot Care business where she travelled all over the country side seeing clients in their homes which she continued (albeit with fewer clients) right up until Dec 2020 when she let her license expire.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband Gordon of 63 years who she married Sep 12, 1959. She is also survived by her three children: Cindy (Derrick), Jerome (Krista) and Burton (Carlyn); nine grandchildren Ashley (Josh), Rachelle (Roman), Lisa, Linden, Erika (Vincent), Marty, Forrest (Johanna), Rainier(Amelia), Arielle (Jonathan) and four great grandchildren Maya, Avery, Ethan and Isaiah.
Dorothy was born to be a nurse and loved caring for everyone around her whether it was medically, cooking for family and friends, or hosting many guests in her home. She has left a big hole and will be missed by everyone!
