Fundraising is on now for the 19th annual Alzheimer Society of Kenora Rainy River Districts Ride For Memories.
Once again, it’s a virtual ride due to COVID-19.
“Normally what the riders would do is they would travel on their bikes through the district from community to community collecting pledges,” explains Event Coordinator Shyler Hendrickson. “Since we aren’t doing an in person rally this year, people are invited to register as a rider (online) to collect pledges.”
You’re continued support matters for those living with dementia and area families as Hendrickson says this is one of their biggest fundraisers.
“All of the funds raised go towards our programs and services in the district, right now that would primarily be our dementia project, our first link education series and the living with dementia experience but of course all funds ensure the continued operation of the Alzheimer’s Society and it’s programs.”
Riders are invited to register online or phone the KRR office at (807) 468-1516.
People can make a donation towards the cause or in support of a rider until August 21st.
In 2020’s virtual ride, more than $15,000 was raised for the local Alzheimer’s Society.
