The province has taken additional steps to protect public safety and reduce the chance of new forest fire starts.
The government has ordered enhanced industry restrictions to now include operations in mining, rail, construction and transportation.
Examples of activities now suspended include: certain specific drilling operations, using heavy machinery with rubber tires and no chains, and rail production grinding.
Minister responsible Greg Rickford says the precautionary measures in the Northwest are needed as the fire situation continues to escalate.
The restrictions come into effect Wednesday and will remain in place until further notice.
Yesterday, the forest industry also had several restrictions put in place.
