The Nuclear Waste Management Organization continues their month long-tour of Northwestern Ontario with a stop in Dryden today (Tuesday, July 20).
NWMO’s Mobile Learn More Centre is at Van Horne Landing 11am to 6pm.
“We are delighted to be bringing the Mobile Learn More Centre back to our communities and to have meaningful conversations about used nuclear fuel” said Lise Morton, Vice-President of Site Selection at the NWMO. “Our staff are looking forward to giving you a tour of the excellent exhibits and answering your questions.”
Visitors to the Centre will have the opportunity to learn more about used nuclear fuel and their plan to establish an underground repository in either the Ignace area or southern Ontario.
The Centre has exhibits, models, diagrams and 3D displays, including a scale model of a deep geological repository.
So far, the unit has travelled close to 1,500 kilometres across the Northwest.
