The community of Eagle River and its’ residents continue to be progressive!
Eagle River now has a ‘History Wall’.
My thanks to Connie Calvert for the following description and pictures of a fascinating project that has come to life. Way to go Eagle River!
“The Association of Municipalities of Ontario awarded grant money to municipalities under the title ‘Main Street Revitalization Funds’ and the Machin Beautification Committee agreed to using some of the funds for a history wall in Eagle River. The wall consists of 20 panels depicting businesses, churches, school etc. with pictures and a brief history description.
Carmene Hampe spent many hours researching and worked with Pauline at Douglas Graphics to bring this to fruition.
Bob Hampe donated the wood and Rod Campbell helped him assemble the plaques in a uniform fashion. Jim Calvert drilled the holes for the posts. They volunteered their time, tools and equipment for the project. Thank you for your contributions. Much appreciated!
If you’re out and about, come and check this out. It’s worth the trip. “
“Another project we’ve completed in Eagle River is our bulletin board. The board was donated by Carolle and Tim Eady and the scene painted by Linda Carter. Jim Calvert drilled the holes for the posts and Bob Hampe and Rod Campbell installed it by our mailboxes for everyone’s use.
Once again, thank you to our invaluable volunteers for your time, tools, equipment and enhancing our community!”
Absolutely fantastic Eagle River! Well done.
