A local family is without a home and trying to recover.
The home on Jonnasson Road went up in flames and was completely destroyed June 1.
Warr Meekis says he woke up around midnight to use the washroom and noticed an orange glow outside the living room and smelled nothing but smoke.
Meekis went into the kitchen and the front door was already burning.
Everyone was asleep at the time so Warr immediately started yelling and moving to get four people out of the residence.
The family had to crawl out from the living room window to escape.
Fortunately no one was injured.
The cause of the blaze is unknown and is under investigation.
A fundraiser has been set-up to help the Meekis family.
