The Provincial Booking System for COVID vaccination appointments has been fixed after being down for a few days.
The technical issues caused some local clinics not to show up in the system, and some people were able to book on dates when there are no clinics planned.
The Northwestern Health Unit has added walk-in clinics as a result including one in Dryden Wednesday afternoon:
June 2: Dryden Memorial Arena. 1:30pm-6:30pm
June 2: Kenora Rec Centre. 1:30pm-6:30pm
June 2: Rainy River High School. 1:30pm-6:30pm
June 3: Fort Frances. St. Francis School. 10:30am-3:30pm
June 4: Fort Frances. St. Frances School. 10:00am-4:00pm
June 5: Kenora Rec Centre. 10:00am-4:00pm
They are open to anyone over the age of 12 looking for their first dose, or those over 80 ready to get their second shot.
Other groups eligible for an early second dose include:
-Anyone born in 1941 or earlier
-First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people and their household members
-Those who live in a long term care home or elder care lodge
-Transplant recipients, dialysis patients, cancer patients on active treatment, and those taking anti-CD20 agent medications
-High risk health care workers, as defined by the Ministry of Health

Fort Frances: June 4, 5, 8, 9, 10
Kenora: June 2, 5, 10, 11

Red Lake: June 3, 4, 5, 8 (***June 3, 4, 5 are not walk-in clinics. By appointment)
Sioux Lookout: June 9
Sioux Narrows/Nestor Falls: June 12
