You could say this man has a particular set of skills, and you definitely don’t want to mess with the man’s family! It’s been some time since we’ve last heard of Liam Neeson, and he’s returning to the big screen with his new thriller ‘The Ice Road’.
Filmed near Gimli, MB – Liam Neeson (Taken) and Laurence Fishburne (Matrix) were spotted many times across the province! I covered this story just last year as filming was getting started.
And now… the first trailer has finally dropped!
Telling the fictional story of a remote diamond mine that collapses in the far northern regions of Canada, ice drivers (Neeson & Fishburne) lead an impossible rescue mission. Traversing over a ‘frozen ocean’ to save the lives of trapped miners despite thawing waters and a threat they never see coming.
While I was a little skeptical over the story at first, I think the trailer has saved it for me! Besides, there’s nothing wrong with a senseless action movie every once in awhile!
It’ll release straight to Digital and DVD June 25th for Canada. American Netflix gets it the same day, but no word on when it will show up on our side of the streaming border…
What do you think? Worth a watch, or will this be a pass in your household?
I’ve already got my popcorn ready.
