The Northwestern Health Unit says there were another seven cases of COVID-19 in the region.
Four are in the Dryden area and three in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says the Dryden cases seem to be from a two cluster of cases.
One is the KFC outbreak and the other is a private group of individuals where the virus was brought into the community from another part of Ontario.
Dr. Young Hoon says they have done the contact tracing for the Dryden KFC.
The restaurant is closed but that wasn’t from a health unit order.
The Health Unit says there are currently 50 active cases in the region.
There are 34 in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub, nine in Dryden, six in Kenora and one in Fort Frances.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit recorded four new positives Friday and now has 34 active cases.
The provincial total is 2,362.
That’s the fifth straight day the caseload has been under 3,000.
There were 26 COVID related deaths.
