In loving memory of Fred Sorenson who went home to his Lord and Saviour in the early morning sunshine on Saturday May 08, 2021, at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Fred was born April 15, 1933 to Emil and Karoline Sorenson who had emigrated from Norway to settle in Ignace Ontario. At home was his older brother Hans.
Fred lived out his life in Ignace, first attending the War Memorial School, then Ignace Public School and finally graduating from Dryden High School. He worked for the Department of Highways/Ministry of Transportation as equipment operator, mainly grader, retiring after over 30 years of accident free service. Upon retirement, Fred dedicated himself to full time maintenance of Ignace Gospel Church/New Life Church. As well, quietly, steadily he cleaned up around the community, clearing away any brush, fallen trees or trash anywhere he came across it.
Fred’s dedication to God gave him a love and servants heart for his church, his community and his country and the people thereof.
Fred was predeceased by his parents Emil and Karoline and his brother Hans.
Fred will be missed by all who were blessed to know this gentle kind man. Well done, thou good and faithful servant Matthew 25:21 KJV
