The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, with the majority in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub.
The Sioux Lookout Hub adds 10 new cases and there’s one case in the Fort Frances Health Hub.
Now there are 67 active cases in the region, up from 62 Thursday.
The Sioux Lookout Hub leads the way with 28 active cases, followed by the Kenora Hub with 21, 11 in the Fort Frances Hub, four in the Emo, two in the Rainy River and one in the Dryden Hubs.
According to the health unit’s data, there are three people in the region hospitalized with COVID-19.
To date, over 31 thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in NWHU’s catchment area.
As for the Thunder Bay District, the active case count continues to fall.
Thunder Bay health officials report Friday there are 41 active cases and two new cases.
Ontario is reporting more than 31-hundred new cases for the second straight day, but officials warn the data may be underreported.
Health officials logged 3,166 new cases across the province.
