The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting ten new cases of COVID-19 Monday morning.
They tell us that both the Kenora and Rainy River health hubs are reporting four new cases, while there is one each in the Dryden and Emo areas.
The regional health authority says there are currently 75 active cases within their catchment area. That number is down from the 90 reported on Sunday.
33 of the active cases are in the Kenora area, 20 in the Fort Frances region, eight in the Sioux Lookout health hub, five each in Rainy River and Emo, two in the Dryden area and one each in Red Lake and Atikokan.
The number of hospitalizations are also down from three on Sunday to one on Monday.
The test positivity rate for the week of April 26th to May 2nd was 3.10 per-cent, down from the 3.25 pe-cent for April 19th to 25th.
To date, the positivity rate 1.05 per-cent since the start of the pandemic. That number is up from the 0.99 per-cent reported on Sunday.
28,732 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, which translates to 48 per-cent of the NWHU population 18 and over and 30 per-cent of the entire population.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit continues to see its numbers go down.
That region recorded 9 new positives today, but the number of actives has dropped to 48.
Ontario reports 3,436 positives and 16 COVID related deaths.
