A Thunder Bay man has been charged with attempted murder following a family dispute and assault in the Township of Conmee.
Provincial Police say the incident occurred Good Friday around 5:30 p.m.
Officers and EMS arrived to the home and found the victim outside with family members.
The individual was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Police attempted to enter the residence but the suspect failed to cooperate and barricaded himself inside resulting in a roughly one hour stand-off.
OPP negotiators eventually got the accused to surrender to police around 7:20.
He was arrested and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say 42 year old Michael Parenteau also faces counts of mischief over 5-thousand dollars, aggravated assault and assault.
Parenteau remains in custody.
