The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is reporting two students that have tested positive for COVID-19 at Dryden High School and the Northwestern Health Unit has directed the board to close two classrooms in the school.
The positive cases are being followed up by
local health officials and all contacts of the cases are being called and given instructions by public health.
Both parties are making sure all potential risks are minimized.
Due to COVID-19 prevention strategies in place, those families who have not been contacted directly by school and health staff over the weekend are deemed to be at no additional risk and can continue to attend school as usual.
The health unit has indicated the two cases at the school are not being classified as an outbreak at this time.
