Luella Brisson
In the early hours of the morning on Sunday, March 7, 2021; Luella May Brisson, with her family at her side passed away peacefully, after a short battle with cancer.
Luella was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan January 12, 1941 and grew up in the Quibell and McIntosh area. Moving to Dryden as a teenager, she met the love of her life – her husband of nearly 50 years. Luella and Baden were married May 15, 1959 and soon blessed with 3 children, Susan (Mike) Batiuk, Wendy (Robert and Janet) St Laurent, and a son William (Rebecca).
Luella worked in the bake shop at Harleys Supermarket for many years, baking and making lifelong friendships, and spent many days fishing with “Papa” and later with Robert and Janet.
Luella was lovingly known as “Mama” to her children, her 6 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, and almost all of her extended family.
Luella was predeceased by her mother Ada Pigott in 1994, her daughter Wendy in 2000, her husband Baden in 2008, and her sister and best friend Darlene Coates in 2017.
Mama took many trips in her life, Australia three times, twice with Baden and once with Darlene, and a couple trips to Europe. There were many trips with Robert, Janet and Darlene to Branson, and the stories from their adventures there were always filled with laughter.
Luella’s last days were spent with friends and family. She received the absolute best care from her granddaughter Leanne, who made it possible that Mama’s wishes of being surrounded by the people who she loved; in her own home, without fear of being alone. For this, the family is eternally grateful to Leanne for the excellent care she provided.
The family will join together to Celebrate the Life of Luella “Mama” Brisson at a later date and at Luella’s request, her remains have been cremated and will join those of her husband, Baden.
