A second straight day of double digit COVID-19 cases in the area.
The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting ten positive results, seven more in the Kenora region and three in the Sioux Lookout area.
There were 13 cases Thursday.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started and anyone who is identified as a contact will be notified directly.
There are now 68 active cases; 37 in Kenora region, 16 in the Sioux Lookout district, 8 in Dryden/Red Lake, and 7 in the District of Rainy River.
So far 3,463 doses of the COVID vaccine have been given by the health units allotment.
Thunder Bay saw a huge spike in numbers with 82 new cases.
Fourteen of them are related to an outbreak at the Walford Retirement Home.
There are now 435 active cases.
Ontario recorded 1,371 cases and 18 new deaths Friday.
