A student at Sioux Mountain Public School has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Northwestern Health Unit has directed the public school board to close the impacted classroom and all contacts of the case are being called and given instructions by public health.
Families who weren’t contacted last night are deemed to be at no additional risk and can continue to attend school as usual.
Officials are working to ensure all potential risks are minimized.
One new case was reported in Sioux Lookout Thursday, while the Kenora region recorded 12.
