The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 within their catchment area as of Thursday morning.
12 of those new cases fall within the Kenora area with the other one located in the Sioux Lookout region.
The new cases have brought the total number of active cases up to 60 (was 57 on Wednesday) and the test positivity rate up to 0.74 per-cent (was 0.72 per-cent on Wednesday).
Of the active cases 33 are in the Kenora region, 13 in the Sioux Lookout region, seven in the District of Rainy River, six in Dryden/Red Lake. The other active case is listed as other, which according to the health unit means the person has a primary residence outside of the NWHU region.
Despite the uptick in active cases and the positivity rate, the number of recovered cases has gone up from 481 on Wednesday to 490 on Thursday.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting 46 new cases of coronavirus.
Health officials indicate theiractive case count has jumped to 423 with 37 more cases resolved.
There are 1,092 new cases and 10 COVID related deaths in Ontario today.
