A 2019 hunting trip near Ear Falls has cost two men from southern Ontario a total of $10,000.
Jason Riel of Douro-Dummer and John Stabler of Lakefield pleaded guilty for hunting moose without a licence and discharging a firearm from a motorboat.
Riel has been banned from hunting in Ontario for four years, while Stabler received a two year suspension.
A conservation officer observed Riel shoot a cow moose from a boat which was operated by Stabler near Long Legged Lake.
An investigation found the two men didn’t have immediate and reliable means of communication with the tag holder in their party.
