Kenora Jail/ Olympus Digital Camera
The province has unveiled expansion projects for both the Kenora Jail and Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
Bird Construction Incorporated has been selected to do the work.
Highlights include a justice centre in Kenora to address the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in the local justice system.
The project will also provide 675 thousand dollars to Kenora’s mobile crisis and outreach team.
Construction in both locales is set to start next month and will be completed in the spring of 2022.
