The Keewatin Patricia District School Board has received notification of a student testing positive for COVID-19 at the Golden Learning Centre in Balmertown.
The Northwestern Health Unit has directed for one classroom in the school to be closed effective today (Wednesday).
Public health is following up with the positive case and all contacts of the case are being called and given instructions.
The board continues to work with the health unit to make sure all potential risks are minimized.
Families not contacted directly by public health or KPDSB staff are deemed to be at no additional risk and can continue to attend school as usual.
All students and staff are reminded to use the Government of Ontario’s school screening tool every day before attending school.
