From Scarborough Ontario to the Superbowl, The Weeknd has made many Canadians proud for taking the stage at THE BIGGEST show of the year! He even spent seven MILLION of his own money on the performance.
But after watching it… I’m a little disappointed.
Okay, the production value is stellar. Between the dancers, set pieces and fireworks – it’s a cool show to look at. But the problem with the rest of it comes down to the sound quality! The Weeknd is an amazing live performer, and last night was just not a good example.
To me, it sounded off.
As for the confusion surrounding those head-worn jock straps, it’s all apart of his ‘character’ like Ziggy Stardust is to David Bowie. “The significance of the entire head bandages is reflecting on the absurd culture of Hollywood celebrity and people manipulating themselves for superficial reasons to please and be validated,” he said in an interview with Variety.
