Hydro One has launched a Small Business Pandemic Relief Program.
Spencer Gill is the Vice-President of Customer Service and says they are connecting struggling businesses with up to $3,000 in financial assistance.
“Strong communities are essential to Ontario and to our company. So we’ve seen small business customers start to fall behind and it’s really important that we help them get back on track.”
Gill says Hydro One wants to assure small businesses that they are here to help.
“What we want small business customers to do if they are struggling to keep up right now is give us a call at 1-888-664-9376 and we will take it from there. We will help get them applied to the assistance programs.”
Gill says the goal is helping applicants lower their bills and get them in a better position.
Since the pandemic began, the company has seen outstanding balances of business customers increase by 51%.
According to Statistics Canada, small businesses represent 98% of all employer businesses in Canada and were more likely to experience a decrease in revenue in the current economic environment.
The Hydro One Customer Contact Centre (1-888-664-9376) is open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
