The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has come up with a way to connect with the community as COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns continue.
Officials have launched a new Municipal Alert System.
It makes receiving important messages simple and accessible.
Residents can choose to receive emergency alerts as well as notices about Council meetings, Public Works activities, recreation programs and events, service disruptions, and general information.
Brian MacKinnon is Manger of Corporate Services and Municipal Clerk and says “This lets us get information to anyone who signs up very quickly.”
MacKinnon notes “You can choose text messages, voice calls, email, even push notifications to your phone.”
A new Service Request Form is also available.
It allows anyone to request service or report issues to any department from their computer, phone, or tablet.
Chief Administrative Officer, Michelle Larose says “Our doors are locked and phone calls are going directly to voice mail right now. We have been very busy finding new ways to keep the Municipalities essential services running smoothly and allowing residents to contact us about important issues.”
