The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting one new COVID-19 case Monday in the District of Rainy River.
Follow up with the person involved and their contacts has started and anyone who is identified will be notified directly.
A case that was previously recorded as probable in the same region has now been confirmed and one Dryden case that was counted early last week has been removed from the database.
This is based on updates from laboratory testing.
There are now 18 active cases in the region. (16 District of Rainy River. 2 in Kenora Region)
The Thunder Bay District is reporting four new cases today and 75 active cases.
Ontario is recording 2,578 new cases, the lowest number within 24 hours since January 1 when 2,476 new cases were recorded.
Twenty-four new deaths are reported.
