There are no plans right now in scrapping the 2020-2021 Superior International Junior Hockey season.
The League is hoping to resume operations on January 25 after the regional lockdown is scheduled to be lifted.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs confirm the schedule will look the same with four games against each team, and a playoff to determine a league champion.
The Ice Dogs have already finished their series with Red Lake with three wins.
The schedule won’t include Thief River Falls or Spooner, Wisconsin.
The league and teams are still working on the details of a Return to Play plan.
Meantime, the Ice Dogs say they are working with the league and health authorities to determine safe and legal ways for the team to work in the next two weeks and they are looking at a variety of options.
Team officials say they are committed to seeing a season through, and the SIJHL has been a leader in Canadian Junior ‘A’ hockey in safely running programming in this most challenging time.
