Your next electricity bill may be a lot easier to look at.
The province is now holding electricity prices to the off-peak rate of 8.5 cents-per-kilowatt hour.
The price will apply whether you are a time of use customer or a tier rate customer.
Premier Doug Ford says the savings will be in place for 24 hours a day for most of the month of January.
Ford says this rate is actually lower than the temporary discounted rate they introduced last March during the first wave of COVID-19.
He notes “After months of this pandemic we know people need that extra help. Especially during winter.”
Ford adds “This reduction will benefit households, small businesses and farms and customers won’t have to fill out an application to receive this rate. It’s just going to show up on your next bill.”
