The warmer weather has prompted a warning from Provincial Police across the region about ice conditions.
Police says anyone who ventures out on the ice should do so with extreme caution.
OPP say snowmobile and all terrain vehicle tracks have been seen in areas known to have poor ice conditions.
With the fluctuation of temperatures, the thickness and safety on lakes, rivers and ponds may be impacted.
The following safety checklist can help ensure a safe ride:
-Check ice thickness and quality before riding onto any frozen waterway
-Be mindful that ice conditions can vary from day-to-day, from hour-to-hour and from one location to the next
-Never travel on ice alone, at night or while impaired by alcohol or drugs
-Avoid slushy or untracked ice or ice near moving water
-Wear a buoyant snowmobile suit and carry ice picks
