A slight drop in new COVID-19 cases in Ontario but the figure is still near 3,000 for another day.
The province announced 2,964 new cases and 25 more deaths from COVID-19.
In the north, Thunder Bay’s health unit is confirming eight new cases, bring the active case count to 57.
That includes four in the outbreak at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, two with no known exposure, and two people whose exposure is still under investigation.
Across the northwest and northeast, health units are reporting 30 new cases in total. Most of the province’s newest cases are in five hot spots in Southern Ontario.
Toronto, Peel, York Region, Durham, and Windsor-Essex County account for around two-thirds of the latest infections.
Around 2,000 cases across Ontario are now considered resolved.
