Great news for motorists in Dryden as the Wabigoon Lake Ice Road is open.
Plowing was completed on Monday and the road is now available for use.
The Ice Road Committee says they only have 12 inches of ice, so you are asked to keep speeds slow and give all vehicles plenty of distance when following.
Officials stress driving fast is dangerous, as it sets up a pressure wave in the ice that can cause it to fracture, which in turn creates the road to become rough and cracked up from the moving wave.
They add during the season, you are urged to give the plow truck lots of room.
