The Dryden Fire Service has filled a key vacancy.
Chief Rob Grimwood says they have hired a new Fire Prevention Officer.
“Jadie Scaman comes to us from Tillsonburg. He’s an experienced and qualified Fire Prevention Officer. He’s taken a significant amount of training. Has his NFP certifications as well as practical experience.”
Grimwood says there’s quite a big workload ahead in terms of fire prevention.
“His key responsibilities will be fire safety inspections, enforcing the Ontario Fire Code, assisting with by-law enforcement and property standards and overseeing public fire safety education.”
The position has been vacant for a couple of years as part of Dryden’s financial recovery.
Scaman will start on January 11.
