The federal Conservative Leader is demanding more support for businesses as we wait for a COVID-19 vaccine.
Erin O’Toole says they’re out with a motion calling the Trudeau government to release the details of the Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program by December 16th.
“This must include the criteria for which businesses can apply, which sectors are eligible, when repayment will be required, and how much forgiveness will be offered,” O’Toole says.
The motion also asks Trudeau reduce restrictions in the Large Employer Emergency Financing Facility, and postpone tax increases and payroll deductions to give businesses a break.
He’s also blaming the Liberals for some Canadians’ fear around the COVID-19 vaccine. Over 25,000 people have signed a petition that casts doubt on the safety of the vaccine, which Health Minister Patty Hajdu has called “fear-driven” and misinformed. O’Toole claims Canadians would be less hesitant to get immunized if Trudeau had provided more details and transparency around the vaccine.
