It’s never boring when the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the Red Lake Miners get together.
The Ice Dogs won their home opener Wednesday night with a back and forth 4-3 overtime win over the Miners.
Evan Pakkala was the hero with two goals including the extra time winner.
Sioux Lookout’s Kendall Schulz also found the back of the net as did Max Rath who scored his first SIJHL goal.
Dylan Kosik was solid in net finishing with 31 saves.
Red Lake continued to battle back from one goal, third period deficits to force overtime thanks to home grown product Jordan Baranesky who finished with two goals and an assist.

Dylan Barton was sensational in net stopping 43 shots.
The rematch is Thursday night at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
