The Pikangikum First Nation will be the first community in Canada to be connected to Starlink’s satellite internet network.
Kenora MP Eric Melillo says its definitely good news.
“I think it’s really a game changer for the community and of course potentially for the entire region. We know internet service is really unreliable across northern regions of our country.”
Melillo adds “I’m just very excited for the region and I commend the work FSET has done to spearhead this and found innovations solutions to ensure everyone in Canada has access to reliable internet.”
A Kenora company, FSET collaborated with SpaceX to connect the remote first nation community with internet service.
Great news and start to providing remote and rural Ontarians better access to internet via @SpaceX Starlink https://t.co/OccWEEdKUT
