The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting five new COVID-19 cases in the Kenora region Monday.
That includes the case at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
Officials say all of the new cases are connected to previously identified cases in the Kenora area.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started and anyone identified will be notified directly.
The updated numbers for Kenora are in addition to six cases over the weekend.
The Health Unit reminds everyone that if you have been tested for COVID-19 due to symptoms, you must self-isolate until you receive a negative test result, or are told by public health that you can return to normal daily activities.
Just because you are feeling better doesn’t mean you don’t have the virus.
Officials say they are aware of several cases in the region recently where the virus has been spread by people who have been tested and have resumed their regular daily activities because their symptoms had improved.
