The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting another new positive COVID-19 test result in the Kenora region, for the fourth time this week.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon is warning of increased COVID-19 risk in the Kenora area.
She calls it a wake up call with 11 positive cases reported in the Kenora region and three people currently hospitalized due to symptoms and risk factors in the past 17 days.
Currently there are seven active cases in the Kenora area.
Follow up with the person involved and their contacts has started.
Anyone who is identified as a contact for this case will be contacted directly.
For privacy, the health unit does not release information about the location of COVID-19 test results.
There are now 11 active cases of COVID-19 in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area with seven in the Kenora area, two in the Dryden/Red Lake area and two in the Sioux Lookout area.
