The number of positive cases of COVID-19 continues to climb in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area.
Two new cases are reported on top of the three new cases announced earlier.
All five are in the Kenora area.
The Northwestern Health Unit confirms one of the infections comes from St. Louis Living Arts School.
Officials are working closely with the Kenora Catholic District School Board to minimize the impact and the school remains open to those who haven’t been identified as close contacts and told to self-isolate.
Shoal Lake #40 is also reporting a case.
A release from community leadership says the person contracted the coronavirus while at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg.
It indicates the person tested positive once they returned home and are now in self-isolation.
Follow up with all of those involved and their contacts has started.
Anyone who is identified will be notified directly.
