There are three new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the Kenora area.
One comes from St. Louis Living Arts School.
The school is working with local health officials to ensure all potential risks are minimized and anyone not contacted can continue to attend school.
Students and staff across the region must use the government of Ontario’s screening tool daily before attending class.
Shoal Lake #40 is reporting their first case of COVID-19.
A release from community leadership says the person contracted the coronavirus while at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg.
It indicates the person tested positive once they returned home and are now in self-isolation.
Follow up with those involved and their contacts has started.
Anyone who is identified will be notified directly.
The Northwestern Health Unit recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practice preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.
Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
