Saturday marks the last day of Crime Prevention Week across Ontario.
The theme this year was “Serving Ontario, Protecting Communities”.
The initiative allows police services to promote the benefits of a community approach to addressing local crime and issues related to safety and well-being.
The Dryden Police Service is recognizing its partnership with community partners to keep local residents safe.
The local model is designed to address challenges through collaboration, prevention and proactive partnerships with community members from health services, housing, diversity and faith-based sectors.
Members of the force co-lead the Dryden Area Rapid Response Team and meet bi-weekly to address mental health, addictions, justice, social services, employment and education concerns.
