It was a busy weekend for Lac Seul Police with 37 calls for service between Friday and Sunday.
There were two major incidents in Frenchman’s Head.
An officer received minor injuries following a physical struggle with an armed man.
Police say a woman was being held at gunpoint around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
The officer was able to disarm and arrest the suspect.
The victim wasn’t injured.
Police say the weapon ended up being a replica handgun.
Police say 32-year-old Carl Chisel of Frenchman’s Head faces a total of five charges.

-Use imitation Firearm while committing an offence

-Assault with a Weapon
Meantime, a 37-year-old man is in custody following a sword attack.
Police say the incident happened around 11:14 Sunday night.
Two people were slashed and the victims were transported to hospital in Sioux Lookout where they were treated for their injuries.
Police say Russell Chisel of Frenchman’s Head faces two counts of aggravated assault.
