Ignace Fire successfully extinguished a vehicle fire Wednesday, with the support of the Wabigoon Fire Department.
Wabigoon’s tanker assisted Ignace Fire in their efforts to put out the blase and re-open the highway.
Highway 17 was closed in both directions for about 30 minutes Wednesday morning.
UPDATE:
On September 23, members of the Ignace Detachment of the OPP responded to the report of an aggressive driver travelling on Highway 17, west of the Town of Ignace.
Around 7:40 am, officers then received a report of a single motor vehicle on fire on Highway 17 in Revell Township (west of Ignace).
As a result of the investigation, Alexius BRIEN, 36 years old of Winlaw, British Columbia has been charged with operation while impaired.
The accused will appear in Dryden Provincial Court on October 26, 2020.
