The Prime Minister is sending his condolences to the family of one of his predecessors, John Turner.
Canada’s 17th Prime Minister passed away on Friday at age 91.
Justin Trudeau says Turner was deeply committed to the law and democratic process. Trudeau calls him a gifted politician whose contributions to Canada will not be forgotten.
Turner spent decades in federal politics and served as Prime Minister for 11 weeks in 1984.
Today, we learned with great sadness that John has passed away. Sophie and I are sending our deepest condolences to his family and friends, and to all Canadians who are mourning this loss. We will never forget all that he contributed to our country. https://t.co/ZCtEgWMmVz
