Premier Doug Ford is touting his party’s record of standing up for northern Ontario.
In a virtual meeting with northern Chamber of Commerce reps this past week, the provincial leader took a shot at the opposition parties.
“I apologize if I tick some people off but it’s just the facts. The facts are throughout the election and throughout the period. Everything that we’ve done for the north, the representatives that represent the north have voted against it and primarily the NDP.”
Ford adds “It’s always just boggled my mind how we’re pro-forestry, pro-mining, pro-business. I guess after we’ve shown what we have done for the north, hopefully we can get some proper representation in Sudbury, in Thunder Bay, in Timmins, in Kapuskasing.”
Ford says he can’t even name the MPP’s for Sudbury and Thunder Bay because they aren’t speaking up for this region.
He notes his PC northern ministers are getting things done.
In the conference call Ford singled out the work being done by Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli.
