The Northwestern Health Unit is ramping up a COVID-19 education campaign as kids start returning to school Thursday.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says all of the information you need to know is on their website.
“Our COVID-19 school page has been updated with resources for parents and educators. New resources of interest include an information sheet on what to do when a student is ill, parents question and answer resource and a screening checklist for parents to use before deciding if their child is going back to school in the morning.”
Young Hoon notes additional information will be added in the coming days.
There are two active cases in the area.
They are in the Sioux Lookout region and in the Dryden/Red Lake district and there is one probable case in the Kenora region.
There have been 46 cases since the start of the pandemic.
Young Hoon says some 22,000 tests have been completed in our region with a positivity rate of 0.2%.
