A Dryden resident is going “Off the Grid” temporarily for charity.
Local ShelterBox Ambassador Kendra Saville is taking on the challenge on Monday for 24 hours and will extend it to 48 hours if she reaches her fundraising goal.
Saville says the purpose of the initiative is to shut off all electricity, no running water, no air conditioning, no refrigerators and no electronics of any kind including phones.
She also hopes to raise more money that will go towards helping people who do not have a safe place to call home.
Such relief includes tents, shelter kits, solar lights, basic tools, cooking and other items to help people who are forced to leave everything behind to be safe.
